K.R.Circle 11.30pm. Traffic moved at snail's pace. People wore different expressions on their faces.
Some wore frustrated looks and some plain looks like they cared a damn about the traffic. Some were
happily chatting with their friends and some were cribbing about life. An ambulance trying to rush to the
Mallya hospital was stuck behind a bmtc bus. The siren was on, I could see the worried bmtc driver wanting to give way to the ambulance, but a car infront of him did not budge. All he had to do was just move a little
and the ambulance could have gone ahead. Why are people so insensitive? That could have been someone we
dont know, but it could have been anyone we know too or some day you or me. Isnt't common sense?

In the US, the rule is that whenever there is an ambulance or a fire engine or any other emergency vehicle approaching, you have to pull out wherever you are and wait for the vehicle to pass by. We ought to have some rules like these to enable patients get timely treatment during the golden hour.

Among the better things happening, Silver Jubilee Park (SJP) road seems to have become stench free.
Thanks to some noble souls.SJP Road was recently re-laid with a concrete surface by the Bangalore Land Army, which took ages to be completed.

It is free of stench, something the market areas have been historically known for.It's not BMP authorities who have made the area stench-free, but the Ulsoor gate traffic police. They are handling the men creating nuisance in their own simple way.They catch those urinating on the footpath and give them three options.

1. They can pay the fine and get away.
2. They can get a bucket of water and clean the area. Or
3. Hold the ears, and do sit-ups.

I believe the idea has worked and no-one dares urinate in the area.

A step closer to a cleaner Bangalore if enforced everywhere and if strictly followed.
